Message from our president

Nicole DeAvilla

I thought I would be the last one to be involved with creating and implementing standards and creating applications, policies and procedures in any field let a lone yoga or yoga therapy.

However, when I saw the first waves of outsiders – government agencies, politicians and the like – attempting to regulate yoga, then I knew it would be far better for us to create standards and regulations for ourselves.

With over 30 years of experience in the field, I began teaching yoga and then practicing yoga therapy before either Yoga Alliance or the International Association of Yoga Therapists had been created.  I have held just about every role a yoga processional could hold: Independent contractor teacher, yoga studio owner, yoga studio manager, yoga teacher training and prenatal yoga teacher training developer and program director, and yoga therapist training program developer and faculty, yoga therapy researcher, columnist, writer and yoga book author, mentor, online programs, and have appeared on TV and radio to discuss yoga and yoga therapy.  I have previously served on Yoga Alliance’s first Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Standards Committee and on the International Association of Yoga Therapists first Accreditation Committee.

With these many years of experience I have seen what works and what doesn’t work.

Did you know that the yoga industry is growing at over 20% per year? Yet most yoga professionals struggle to make ends meet.

Yoga Professional Academy takes my decades of experience and that of other yoga professionals, plus cutting edge technology, to change that – to allow yoga professionals to work at a high level of training and support and to earn a professional living, so that they have time to Live the Yoga Life They Love™!

This is primarily an academy that supports yoga and yoga therapy studio and school owners and program directors, as well as faculty.

Come learn for yourself what we are all about.  Join us and be part of a cutting edge community where we learn and support each other as peers, bring in the experts, and truly build successful professional yoga businesses and organizations while keeping the heart of service and the deeper meanings of yoga intact.
